"Your Word is a lamp unto my feet, a light on my path."

Ps. 119:105

As 2017 comes to a close, many of us are taking a reflective look at the year. One question worth asking is: Am I closer to Jesus at the end of 2017 than I was at the beginning? If not, why not? Have I spent daily time in prayer and God's word? If not, why not? An embarrassing reality for many believers is that we often neglect a daily time with Christ, but have no problem spending 22 minutes watching that latest Netflix show.

As we look ahead to 2018, create the habit of a daily time in prayer and in the study of God's word. Here’s is an easy tip to help: Have a smartphone? Put a calendar appointment for 30 minutes earlier than you normally get up. Spend 7 minutes in prayer and 15 minutes reading the Bible. If you put a calendar appointment on your phone, you are going to either have to do it or know you that didn't do it. There will be no "forgetting" about it.

Now that you have time set aside you need a solid plan. You know the old saying, “Failing to plan is planning to fail”. To help people who have had failed attempts at reading through the Bible in a year, we've added a few reading plans the will help you keep on track.

So what do you think? Do you want to grow closer to Christ in 2018? Download a reading plan below.
